Deloitte, Topyx and EdTek Services Lead a Group of Companies to Help Aman Lara Provide eLearning Training Opportunities for Afghan Immigrants
On Monday September 26th, 2002, a group of technology, training and consulting companies, including EdTek Services, Deloitte, Interactyx, Valemount Consulting, Learn eCORE and theValueExchange helped celebrate Aman Lara's 1-Year Anniversary and announce a partnership to provide 350+ Soft Skills courses to over 3400 Afghan refugees brought to Canada in the last 12 months.
This event was some time in the making due to a few hard bumps in the road. The first date had to be postponed when a power failure swamped the entire downtown Toronto area. Huge thanks are due to Deloitte for offering their ultra-modern downtown event space and finding us an alternative date when the lights went out. The second date got sideswiped by Hurricane Fiona which hit the Maritimes hard and nearly grounded our host for the evening, the Hon. Peter Mackay.
Peter spoke eloquently, passionately and directly about how Aman Lara has worked under very difficult conditions to bring over the Afghan allies who assisted Canada's military, diplomatic and aid staff for two decades. With this partnership, EdTek and Interactyx will offer 350+ Soft Skills courses, at no cost, through the TOPYX LMS to assist Aman Lara as they resettle and transition these families.
